McColl, NCDT get National Endowment for the Arts grants

WASHINGTON The National Endowment for the Arts has announced more than $23 million in 832 grants to arts organizations and individuals for a variety of cultural activities.

The endowment also announced the selection of 40 poets for fellowships totaling $1 million.

• Charlotte’s McColl Center for Visual Art: $40,000 to support residencies for as many as 12 artists.

• North Carolina Dance Theatre: $10,000 to support the creation and world premiere of a new work by dancer and choreographer Jiri Bubenicek.
