The Observer asks 10 questions of Carolina Panthers right guard Garry Williams:
Q. You grew up in Louisville but went to Kentucky. Were you a Louisville or UK guy growing up?
I was both. Being that I went to Kentucky, Im a Kentucky fan now.
Q. Have you been to Keeneland (horse track)?
Yeah, Ive been there a couple times. Its fun. Just go out there and watch the horse races and have fun with everybody.
Q. Whats nicer Keeneland or Churchill Downs?
Churchill Downs because they put so much into Churchill Downs. Its a great atmosphere, especially the Derby. If you ever get a chance to go, its a lot of fun. Everybodys just enjoying the day.
Q. Do you know whats on a Louisville Hot Brown?
You put me on the spot, I cant remember. I havent had one in so long, I cant remember. I like it. Its like a sandwich with gravy or something? (Crumbled bacon and a white Cheddar sauce on top of a turkey and tomato open-face sandwich.)
Q. What was your favorite road trip in the SEC?
I would say Florida because Floridas my favorite vacation spot.
Q. Whats your favorite road city in the NFL?
Ive only been there once, but Id love to go back. And thats Arizona. It was nice out there.
Q. What did you think about Kentucky hiring Mark Stoops?
I think hell be a great coach for us. I think hes going to help the program out, get us back to our winning ways. I think hell be a good fit.
Q. Will there be a Kentucky-Oklahoma game coming up soon?
There might be. That would get a lot of pub and a lot of fan base, so it would help out tremendously.
Q. Are you and Andre Neblett going for the biggest beard on the team?
Nah, hes got me right now. I try to catch him. But every once in a while I trim mine up and his just grows at a rapid rate. So hes got me.
Q. Whats the best compliment or worst insult youve gotten about it?
One time a patch here was all nappy and they started dogging me up. Thats probably the worst Ive had. I dont know any great compliments Ive had about it.
