The Democratic and Republican congressmen got along famously as they shared a Charlotte stage for an Observer/PNC forum about congressional gridlock Friday night. Many audience members, though, left doubting theyre serious about working together to improve the country.

The Observer editorial board asked some who attended Friday night to share their thoughts from the evening.
