Statistically speaking: Newcomers' spending habits

Welcomemat Services, a technology and marketing company that researches the spending habits of a community’s newest residents, looked at the kinds of businesses where newcomers spend their discretionary income. Here’s what a review found on what a new resident will spend annually as a loyal customer for a neighborhood business:

$600 annual amount a community newcomer spends at a restaurant

$1,200 annual amount a community newcomer spends at a drycleaner

$4,000 annual amount a community newcomer spends at a local grocer
