Your Tuesday morning traffic update

Congestion is the big problem on roadways across the Charlotte region at 8:15 a.m. this Tuesday morning.

The biggest problem is in Burke County, where a tractor-trailer carrying glue overturned several hours ago on eastbound Interstate 40. One eastbound lane is closed near mile marker 100, and traffic is slowed for about 5 miles on the eastbound side.

Here is a summary at 8:15 a.m.:

-- I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-30 mph between Providence Road and South Boulevard.

-- I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph between Carowinds Boulevard and Tyvola Road.

-- I-77 southbound, Lake Norman area ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph from the lake down to I-485. Earlier crash near Mooresville has been cleared.

-- I-85 southbound, Cabarrus County ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph from N.C. 73 down to I-485.

-- I-85 northbound at Mallard Creek Church Road ... Collision being cleared; minor delays.

-- Harris Boulevard at The Plaza ... A collision is blocking the center northbound lane; moderate delays.

-- The Plaza at Matheson ... Collision; minor delays.

-- West Boulevard at Remount Road ... Collision; minor delays.

-- Independence Boulevard inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 10-15 mph from Margaret Wallace Road to Idlewild Road.
