Piedmont Natural Gas is asking for community help Wednesday at the company’s annual food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
The drive will be from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. in the traffic circle outside Piedmont’s SouthPark headquarters in Piedmont Town Center, 4720 Piedmont Row Drive. Last year’s drive netted more than 1,100 pounds of food in just three hours, and organizers of the effort have doubled the length of the program this year.
The public is invited to bring canned goods and other nonperishables. The food drive is part of Piedmont Natural Gas’ second annual Holiday Week of Giving, in which the company and its employees work with seven local nonprofit organizations.
