Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have identified the victim in a homicide in north Charlotte as Robert Ray Myers.
Police are looking for whomever was responsible for an attack that left the 48-year-old man dead Wednesday morning.
Myers died at a 7-Eleven store in the 1500 block of North Tryon Street, near the Dalton Avenue intersection. But police say he was not assaulted there.
Officers were called to the scene about 7 a.m., after someone reported a man was bleeding and appeared to have been assaulted. Police and Medic responded, and the victim died at the scene.
Investigators say the victim apparently was attacked elsewhere and came to the store for help. Police canvassed the neighborhood Wednesday morning, trying to find witnesses and additional information.
Officers initially shut down both inbound lanes of North Tryon Street, but they opened one lane about 8 a.m.
