2 sentenced in Burke for drug trafficking

MORGANTON -- Two men pled guilty this week in Burke County Superior Court and were sentenced to prison on drug trafficking charges, prosecutors say.

The district attorney’s office says Johnny Ray Huffman, 63, of Hickory, and Dennis Hal Turner, 37, of Morganton, entered guilty pleas on felony trafficking charges.

Huffman pled guilty to felony trafficking in opium and heroin and was sentenced to between 5 years 10 months and 7 years in prison. Turner pled guilty to felony trafficking in cocaine and was sentenced to between 2 years 11 months and 3 years six months in prison.
