Carolina Voices’ annual tradition – now in its 58th year – again features its 80-plus member MainStage Choir arranged on a 32-foot twinkling tree. There also are two Singing Christmas Tree for Kids performances ($10-$20), at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.

Holiday

Santa’s Workshop

3:30-5:30 p.m. Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont. $25 ($20 for members), includes admission to the garden. Reservations required: 704-829-1252.

Activities will include a sing-along, story time and a ride on the Garden Express tram. Garden elves will be on hand to help children create a special gift for someone on their list, decorate cookies and more.

Fundraiser

The Speed for Children in Need 5K

3 p.m. Charlotte Motor Speedway, 5555 Concord Parkway South. $30 in advance, $35 day-of. charlotte.speedwaycharities.org.

The 5K run/walk will start at zMAX Dragway and end at the start/finish line of the superspeedway. Proceeds will benefit the Charlotte Chapter of the Speedway Children’s Charities, the Hendrick Marrow Program and Let Me Run.
