A South Carolina man faces a misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed weapon after police say he attempted to take a gun through a security checkpoint at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
Eighteen-year-old Bakari Blunt, of Charleston, S.C., was stopped by Transportation Security Administration officials at 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 when he attempted to conceal a Colt .45 in his carry-on, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
TSA officials confiscated the gun, and CMPD officers arrested Blunt.
He was booked in the Mecklenburg County Jail and is set to appear in court Jan. 18.
