Local law enforcement agencies Friday will join other law enforcers across the state to kick off a campaign to crack down on drunk drivers during the holidays.
The “Booze it & Lose It” campaign will continue through Jan. 2. During that period, police will set up additional DWI checkpoints and increase patrols across the state.
The campaign is a part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program and starts with an event at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, which will feature speeches by the program’s director and the Guilford County Sheriff.
