The Charlotte Bobcats have waived third point guard Cory Higgins to sign Jeff Adrien out of the NBA Development League.
Higgins, son of Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins, was signed just before the lockout-shortened outset of the NBA season last December. He played 38 games last season, averaging 3.8 points with 39percent shooting from the field.
Adrien, who was in the Bobcats training camp this preseason at UNC Asheville, has averaged 17.6 points for Rio Grande in the NBDL. He has had stints in the NBA with Golden State and Houston in the NBA.
