Matchup to Watch
Kemba Walker vs. Chris Paul: First Stephen Curry, now Chris Paul. Two games in a row Walker goes up against an elite NBA point guard with strong North Carolina ties.
Observations.
• The Clippers have one of the NBAs better benches, built around Jamal Crawford. They recently played exclusively reserves in the fourth quarter against Phoenix, extending a two-point lead into an 18-point victory.
• The Clippers lead the NBA in steals per game at 11.
• The Clippers had a late night getting into Charlotte. Their Tuesday game in Chicago tipped off at 9:30 p.m.
Tap-ins
• It took a long time, but the Clippers finally have built a real fan base in Los Angeles; theyre on a streak of 62 consecutive sellouts at Staples Center.
• Hardly any pair of NBA teammates dunk more than the Clippers DeAndre Jordan (41 entering Tuesday) and Blake Griffin (42).
• Note the 7:30 tip-off time, which is a half-hour later than normal for a Bobcats home game. The same will be true for Saturdays game against the Orlando Magic.
Did you know?
• Entering this week, the Bobcats Ramon Sessions was second in the NBA in 20-point games as a reserve at five. Crawford topped him with 10.
