Matthews

Painting classes: Try an oil and acrylic class at The Levine Senior Center from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 15 through Feb. 19. Cost is $55 for members; $65 for nonmembers. Call 704-846-4654.

Technology try: The Matthews Community Center will offer Technology Learning Day 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 12. Support will be offered for Mac OS & Windows users, including MS Office, Internet usage, digital photography and movies, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, software for backing-up, Quicken, networking and general how-to advice. PSAT practice: Participate in a practice PSAT exam at the Morrison Regional Library at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 2. Then attend the Learn How to Improve your Scores seminar to learn success secrets. South Charlotte

Exchange students: Twenty high school French students will visit East Mecklenburg High School Feb. 9-20, and need host homes. They shadow your student during the day. Charlotte

Free ornaments: Visitors can help undecorate the NASCAR Hall of Fame beginning Dec. 26 at the third annual UnDeck the Hall. Choosing from a display of Christmas trees in the Great Hall, each guest can take home one NASCAR-themed item until all are gone. The trees are decorated with autographed souvenirs and memorabilia, NASCAR-themed ornaments, die cast cars and secret surprises. Details: www.nascarhall.com.


Olde Providence

Windyrush memberships: Windyrush, a private swim and tennis club in the South Charlotte neighborhood of Olde Providence is seeking members.
