HuntersvilleCitizen’s Police Academy: The Huntersville Police Department is accepting applications for its sixth annual Citizen’s Police Academy. This free, 10-week program will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. every Tuesday, Jan. 22 through March 26 at the Police Department, 9630 Julian Clark Ave. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Jan. 11. Participants must be 18 or older; live or work in Huntersville and must not have been convicted of or have pending charges for any misdemeanor offense within the past two years or felony offense. Future Cats: Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the National Basketball Academy to offer the Bobcats Holiday Basketball Camp, Dec. 26-28. The holiday clinic runs 9 a.m.-noon each day at Huntersville Elementary School, 200 Gilead Road, Huntersville. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7-16 and will focus on the fundamentals of basketball. Cost is $115 and included a ticket to a Bobcats game. Davidson Senior Scholars: These free programs are scheduled 1-2:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month, Davidson Parks and Recreation Office, 416 Armour St. Dates may change due to speaker availability.
