A Charlotte man faces multiple felony weapons and drug charges after a community tip led police to search his residence.

Michael Cloud, 30, is charged with three county of possession of a stolen firearm, trafficking cocaine, maintaining a dwelling to sell a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to a news release. Police arrested Cloud Friday after obtaining a search warrant for his home at 1135 Ballina Way, where they found five guns, including an assault rifle, 476 grams of cocaine and $4,725 in cash. Three of the five guns seized were reported stolen.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were first alerted to problems in the area when they responded to a 911 call about multiple shots fired on Ballina Way on Dec. 9. The K-9 unit responded to the scene, but was unsuccessful in finding a suspect. The next day, detectives received a complaint about drug activity and weapons at Cloud’s residence. They investigated, confirmed the residence was a base for drug trafficking and obtained a search warrant. Cloud was home at the time of the search.

He was in the Mecklenburg County Jail Friday held on $325,500 in bond.
