Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a shooting that left one man in the hospital with a gunshot wound in his arm.

The shooting happened about 5:50 pm Tuesday in the parking lot of the Citgo gas station at the corner of Albemarle Road and WT Harris Boulevard.

Police said the man, who is in his 20s, was standing next to his car near one of the gas pumps when the suspect drove through the parking lot and began shooting at the victim.

Detectives were interviewing the victim at a local hospital Tuesday evening, while officers blocked off the gas station with crime scene tape. Police did not have information about the suspect and had not made any arrests at 7 p.m.
