Matchup to Watch
Kemba Walker vs. Goran Dragic: Nothing star-studded about Bobcats-Suns, but these two point guards are cagey drivers in transition or off the pick-and-roll.
Observations.
• Two ex-Bobcats, Jared Dudley and Shannon Brown, have started of late for the Suns.
• Brown hit six 3-pointers as a reserve during a seven-point victory last month in Charlotte.
Former North Carolina point guard Kendall Marshall, Phoenixs first-round pick, was assigned to Bakersfield with the NBA Development League.
Tap-ins
• Former No. 2 overall pick Michael Beasley, on his third NBA team, has been coming off the bench for Phoenix.
• The Suns play a lot of close games; already seven by three points or less.
• Suns coach Alvin Gentry grew up in Shelby and played for Appalachian State.
Did you know?
Despite entering the West Coast trip on an 11-game losing streak, the Bobcats are 3-3 this season when playing the second of two games on back-to-back nights.
