Harris Interactive and Hotwire.com, a discount travel site, recently conducted an American Travel Behavior survey of more than 2,000 U.S. adults. According to the survey, most Americans will leave an average of 9.2 paid vacation days on the table this year, up from an average of 6.2 days in 2011. Other findings from the survey:
19% Received no vacation days from their primary employer.
72% Prefer taking several smaller vacations over a year rather than one big one.
58% Spent money on a Christmas “obligation trip” last year.
