A bridge on Hood Road in northeast Charlotte reopened Wednesday morning after a construction project that lasted nearly five months.
The bridge, over Reedy Creek, forced officials to close a portion of Hood Road. The $602,000 project, handled by Dane Construction of Mooresville, began July 30.
The N.C. Department of Transportation says one of the projects subcontractors encounter problems, and that delayed the scheduled Nov. 26 completion date. The project included replacing the bridge and substructure, installing guardrail, and rebuilding the shoulder on the approaches to the bridge.
