According to the Mayans, Friday is the earths expiration date and everyones last day on it. Perhaps they just ran out of room on their calendar. (And isnt the math off, as they left out leap years?) But whatever. Its an excuse for almost every bar in Charlotte to have an End of the World party. Here are a few.

Big Als Holiday Benefit at Big Als Pub and Grubberia (8301-12 Magnolia Estates Drive, Cornelius): Its a fundraiser for Solace for the Children, a Mooresville-based nonprofit that provides medical, dental and optical care to needy kids.
