Over the past couple of days, members of the Safe Streets Task Force, which includes police, FBI and ATF agents arrested 12 suspects on drug, robbery and weapons charges.
"Once we identified all these individuals and began looking at their backgrounds, looking at what they had previously been involved with what, they were currently involved with," said Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Lieutenant Todd Garrett of the North Tryon Division.
Those facing federal charges are 20-year-old Maurice Stuckey, 22-year-old Ronald Centeno, 21-year-old Arthur Thornton, 23-year-old Shaquan Howell and 28-year-old Deshawn Lewis.
In addition to that, police raided a home off Olinda Drive and made three more arrests--finding $12,000 in cash plus cocaine and marijuana.
Police are hoping this will keep Milton Road quiet for a while, and say they have their eye on other suspects who might be looking to step up.
If convicted of federal charges some of the suspects are looking at potential life sentences.
