Visit Ballantyne Hotel to see more than 40 gingerbread houses on Gingerbread Lane. It’s free to visit, and with a minimum donation of $1 you can vote on your favorite house. The donation goes to Levine Children’s Hospital.

Stargazing

Town Creek Under the Stars

Get a chance to observe celestial bodies from a location unencumbered by light pollution. Stargazers are encouraged to bring their own telescopes and binoculars, but a telescope will be available. Some people say the Mayan calendar predicts the world will end Friday, so this event will focus on the celestial waypoints that the Mayas used to develop their calendar. Warm refreshments will be available. The event is free but you must RSVP by emailing towncreek@ncdcr.gov or by calling 910-439-6802.
