Parts of Interstates 77 and 85 that were both closed following wrecks early Thursday evening are now open. But both roads are congested, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. On I-77, northbound lanes near mile marker nine were backed up around 8:30 p.m. Meanwhile, traffic was moving slowly on I-85 near mile marker 45. Few details were immediately available about the accidents that had occurred and shut down parts of both interstates around 6 p.m.
