Police search for man wanted on larceny charges

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for a man they say cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet and is wanted on outstanding larceny warrants. James Sherrill is wanted on two counts of larceny of an auto, two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle, felony conspiracy and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

Sherill was released from jail Sept. 3 on $25,000 bond and required to wear the electronic bracelet as a condition of his release. He was last seen at the transit center on Trade Street, and police are asking anyone with information about Sherill to call the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-VCAT.

Steele: 704-358-5067
