Cannon School is one of 51 schools to receive the High School Team Academic Award for both the girls and boys soccer programs from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
A total of 365 high school teams (140 boys and 225 girls teams) throughout the country earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during 2011-12. To qualify for the award, teams must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the academic year.“I’m proud of our student-athletes on both teams for receiving this award for the second consecutive year,” said Cannon soccer coach Matt Barlow in a release.“All of our players know the classroom comes first, and I fully support their academic endeavors in addition to their performance on the field.” Staff reportsFriday, Dec. 21, 2012
