Register for water skiing, wakeboarding classes

The Lake Norman Ski Club is taking registration for a series of youth water skiing and wakeboarding classes.

The Learn2Ski and Learn2Wakeboard classes are open to students age 15 and younger and are tentatively scheduled for June and July.

All classes will run 8-11:30 a.m. in the cove at Vinnie’s Raw Bar and Restaurant on Williamson Road in Mooresville.

The registration fee is $20 per person. Each participant must have a signed waiver release form from their parent or guardian.

Sailing scene

• The first two races in the Outrigger Yacht Club’s six-race Icicle Series will begin Jan. 19 on Lake Norman. The races are open to any sailor with a boat holding a current PHRF rating from the Lake Norman Keelboat Council. Other races have been scheduled for Feb. 2 and 16. • The Lake Norman Marine Commission will not meet in December. The next meeting is 7 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in Mooresville.
