It took firefighters 15 minutes to control and knock down the fire. The family that lived at the home is now being assisted by the American Red Cross, according to fire Capt. Rob Brisley.

In the second fire, crews were called to the 600 block of Oakland Avenue where it took firefighters 25 minutes to control the blaze. Again, no injuries were reported.
