Matchup to Watch
Deron Williams vs. Kemba Walker: Assuming Williams plays (he sat out the road loss in Milwaukee), hes been a big problem for the Bobcats of late. He scored in the 50s in Charlotte last season and excels at dribble-penetration.
Observations
• Thursday morning the Nets fired coach Avery Johnson, after the Nets lost their 10th game in 13 tries. Quite a fall from grace after Johnson was named Eastern Conference coach of the month for November.
• Nets lead assistant P.J. Carlesimo will reportedly serve as interim coach.
• There was lots of dissatisfaction from Nets players. Williams indicated he didnt like the offensive system and ex-Bobcat Gerald Wallace talked extensively after the Milwaukee loss about how the Nets were underachieving.
Tap-ins
• Bobcats shooting guard Ben Gordon, out the last three games wih a sore knee, practiced in five-on-five scrimmages at practice Thursday.
• Johnson was playing Wallace at power forward; no telling whether Carlesimo will move him back to small forward.
Did you know?
In his first start as a Bobcat, Hakim Warrick finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. Had he grabbed one more board, it would have been his first double-double since April of 2011. Rick Bonnell
