eBook classes: The South County Regional Library on Rea Road is offering a eReader class. Adults can book a one-hour training session. Registration is required. Stonecrest

Blood drive: The non-profit Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will hold a blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. Jan. 12 at Stonecrest Community Drive, 7825 Rea Road, Charlotte, NC 28277.


Myers Park

Lupus help: Lupus Foundation of America, Piedmont Chapter, will host a support group meeting for those living with lupus, their family and caregivers from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, Outreach Center, room F102, 1073 Providence Road.


South Charlotte

Theater fundraiser: Butler High School Performing Arts Department will host a flapjack fundraiser in conjunction with Applebee’s of Matthews, at 9616 E. Independence Blvd.,from 8 to 10 a.m. Jan. 5. The fundraiser will support the spring musical, “Hairspray” set to open Feb. 21. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the school during lunch periods Jan. 2-4 or online at http://flapjacks.eventbee.com.


Blakeney

Theater event: The musical, “Little Women,” will be performed by the CYC players under the direction of Gwen Berger Feb. 7 and 8 at Elevation Blakeney, 8835 Blakeney Professional Drive. The CYC players are the high school musical theater group of the homeschool choir, Carolina Youth Chorale. Tickets are on sale for $8. For information, www.CYCplayers.org.
