Hello fellow get-fitters! I hope everyone was able to celebrate the holidays with their loves ones.

I was able to spend a nice weekend in West Palm Beach (where Jeff and I grew up) before flying home bright and early on Christmas Eve. I enjoyed seeing my "other family" and all of my friends. One of my bridesmaids even got engaged! Exciting!

I was able to keep myself out of a cookie coma and after all was said and done, the scale said I put on about 2.5 pounds. No biggie - I was expected much worse (thanks to Grandma's peanut butter pie). So I decided last Thursday that I was going to do a short 3-day detox to rid myself of all the soda and sweets I had consumed. Now, I know there is a lot of speculation surrounding detox diets which is why I did some serious research prior and didn't just focus on one review of the diet. As someone in the fitness field myself, I was very hesitant on trying anything to begin with. The bloat and added weight was just making me feel uncomfortable, even just two and a half pounds. So I bucked up and did it. And after three days, I lost a cool 3.5 pounds. Boom. AWESOME.

Now, this is in no way shape or form a diet that I would stick with. Although it did provide me with the correct vitamins and water (I drank almost a gallon a day) I needed, the calorie count was very low and isn't ideal for someone who is active (I didn't work out for those three days). It was however, a jump start to get me back on track and feeling healthy again. If you are considering a detox, check with your doctor first. Also, be weary of crash diets that last a week or longer, or ones that have you consuming less than 1,000 calories a day. They can be dangerous and harm you in the long run.

Weigh in's at Flex + Fit are this coming week, and I'm hoping my slow climb has continued. Side note: took a class with Elizabeth. Holy amazing. One of the best classes I've ever taken. She's amazing.

Getting married this year! Cool!!!

Happy New Year, friends. I hope it promises some of the greatest times yet.

World peace and skinny jeans,

Sheri xo
