Part of the hourly parking deck at Charlotte Douglas International Airport is closing Wednesday, and crews plan to demolish the structure later this month.
The closure affects the West Hourly Deck, though drivers will still be able to use the East Hourly deck for now.
The move will help free up space for a $120 million, seven-level hourly deck that is under construction at the airport. The deck will include 4,000 general public parking spaces, while another 3,000 spots will be used for rental cars. The deck is expected to be finished in November 2014.
