LENOIR, N.C. Very early Wednesday morning, officials say three people participated in a drive-by shooting in Lenoir.
The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office responded to a shots fired call in the 3300 block of Normandy Park Road about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim told authorities that the suspects, driving a gold Ford Taurus, fired shots into his home.
Officers with the Hudson Police Department initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle on Spring Street in Hudson, with the assistance of North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers.
The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene and located the firearm they say was used in the shooting and collected evidence from both the victim's residence and the suspect vehicle.
Three people were arrested in connection with the drive-by shooting: 26-year-old Daniel Wright, 22-year-old David Rogers and 43-year-old Maxine Pearson, all residents of Hudson.
Wright and Rogers were each arrested and charged with attempted first degree burglary, discharging a firearm into an occupied residence, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault by pointing a gun, open container in a motor vehicle and injury to real property. They're both held in the Caldwell County Detention Center on a $150,000.
Pearson, who was driving the vehicle, officials say, is charged with accessory to a felony. She's held in the Caldwell County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
Caldwell County Sheriff Alan Jones says, "I am very proud of the cooperative effort made by all agencies involved. Sharing resources and working together with agencies makes all our communities and towns safer. These suspects were captured due to that ability to share information and resources."
