Cat fight leads to arrest of Rock Hill man

A Rock Hill man was arrested after kicking out the windows of a police car and injuring a deputy after an argument over his family cat, according to police reports.

Deputies responding Wednesday evening to a home on Hilton Road were told by a father that his 19-year-old son had bloodied his nose after an argument about the cat, a York County Sheriff’s office report shows.

When police arrived the son became “belligerent,” knocking one window of the patrol car off its track and shattering another.

A deputy standing near the car was cut on the forehead by the flying glass, the report states.

The son, Joshua Coss, was charged with two counts of assault - one for the argument/fight, and one for the injury to the deputy - and one count of damage to property. He was released on a $3,185 bond.
