2 shot on Davenport Street in Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say two people sustained life-threatening injuries Friday after a shooting in the 900 block of Davenport Street.

A man was shot in the leg and a bullet grazed a woman’s ankle sometime before 7:54 p.m., police said. Neither person’s injury was life-threatening. Officers responded to the residence after a caller dialed 911 to say her brother had just shot her niece, police said.

CMPD officers and K9 units responded to the scene, and police had detained one person for questioning by 10:25 p.m. but had not yet made any arrests early Saturday.
