Breast health seminar
This free workshop will begin at 10 a.m. Jan. 14 at Tyvola Senior Center, 2225 Tyvola Road. A Susan G. Koman for the Cure representative will talk and answer questions about breast health concerns. Topics include the nature of breast cancer, gender effects and ways to maintain breast health. Details: 704-522-6222.
‘New Year, Same Old You. Not This Time!’
The Town of Davidson Parks and Recreation Department will offer this course 7-8 p.m. Jan. 21 at Davidson Town Hall, 216 S. Main St., Davidson. Dr. John Bartemus will share healthy and sustainable lifestyle choices that will help attendees lose weight and restore health and energy levels. The class will also cover the causes of obesity, diabetes and heart disease, as well as how to avoid or reverse them with research-approved methods that don’t include drugs or surgery. $10 for Davidson residents, $12 for nonresidents.
