Fairview Road lanes open again

All lanes are open again Tuesday morning on Fairview Road, following repairs to a broken water main.

Both westbound travel lanes were closed Monday afternoon on Fairview Road at Oglukian Road, between Providence and Carmel roads, so crews could make repairs. Westbound motorists had to use a turning lane to get past the site, and traffic was snarled at times in the area.

But a spokeswoman for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities says crews completed repairs on the road overnight. All lanes were open before daybreak.
