Justin Perrin

Central Piedmont Community College police have arrested a man for allegedly possessing weapons on campus after they found a shotgun, pellet rifle and large knife in his vehicle.

Justin Elvin Perrin, 27, was arrested Friday evening. Police questioned him after security personnel observed him making inappropriate comments, said Paul Kitchen, assistant director of campus security. Kitchen declined to discuss those comments in further detail, because the case is still under investigation. While being questioned, Perrin gave police permission to search his vehicle, which was parked on campus.

After authorities found the weapons in Perrin’s car, he was charged with misdemeanor possession of weapons on school grounds and booked in the Mecklenburg County jail. His bond amount is set at $5,000. Kitchen said Perrin was not a student at the school.
