What are you doing this weekend? Don’t know yet? Well, here are some suggestions for you:

Friday

January Birthday Club at Whisky River (210 E. Trade St.): All January babies can, as 50 Cent once rapped, “party like it’s your birthday” (and get free birthday cake!). I guess I should go, too, considering my birthday is this month. No cover from 7-10 p.m. www.whiskyrivercharlotte.com.

The Face to Face Tribute Show at The Fillmore (1000 NC Music Factory Blvd.): A show that honors two of the all-time greatest piano men – Elton John and Billy Joel. 8 p.m. $10 in advance, $13 at the door. 704-916-8973.

Saturday

The Art of War A Graphic Novel - Book & Art Event at 5 Church (corner of Fifth and Church streets): Hosted by the author of the graphic depiction of the classic novel, Kelly Roman, and illustrator Michael DaWeese. With live jazz and a cocktail brunch, this event gives a whole new meaning to a “book club.” 1-4 p.m. Free. 704-919-1322.

Upscale Latin Night at Zapata’s (15105 John Delaney Drive): Get your fiesta on with Latin and international music by DJ Minuche. You can dance the salsa, and eat it, too. 10 p.m.-2:30 a.m. $10 cover for guys; ladies free. 704-752-6869.

Guys and Dolls Stoplight Party at Prohibition (200 N. Tryon St.): Wear green if you’re single and ready to mingle, red if you’re taken and just there for the shaken – and yellow for somewhere in between. $20 donation gets you open bar from 7-10 p.m.; proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. www.guysanddollscharlotte.com.

Marquee Saturdays at Stadium 4 (305 W. 4th St.): Uptown’s newest club is kicking off its weekly upscale party. Dress code enforced – no sneakers, work boots, hats or tees, and a collared shirt is mandatory. 10 p.m. $5. 704-659-1311.
