1 shot in stomach after attempted robbery

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Wednesday were investigating an attempted robbery in west Charlotte that left one man in the hospital with a gunshot wound in the stomach.

The man was shot near Nobles Avenue and taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

There were few details available about the case at 7 p.m.
