No injuries were reported Thursday morning when fire damaged a house in south Charlotte, fire officials say.

The fire was reported shortly after 7:45 a.m. at a residence in the 5600 block of Wedgewood Drive, south of Woodlawn Road and west of Park Road. That is in the Madison Park neighborhood.

Charlotte fire Capt. Rob Brisley said crews found heavy smoke coming from the house when they arrived. Brisley said it took a crew of 28 firefighters about 35 minutes to subdue the blaze.

Nobody was home at the time, and Brisley said the family has been displaced due to the fire damage.
