1 in hospital after head-on collision in Iredell County

A head-on collision Thursday afternoon in Iredell County left one man in the hospital with a broken leg and another woman with minor injuries.

The crash happened on US Highway 64 near Bell Farm Pond Road when a Toyota pick-up truck drifted into oncoming traffic, highway patrol troopers said.

The truck, driven by Statesville resident Erskine Morrison, 28, collided with a car driven by 74-year-old Barbara Wilson, of Cleveland. Wilson was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, troopers said. A helicopter airlifted Morrison to a hospital in Winston-Salem.
