Clover assistance center seeking to fill two posts

CLOVER Clover Area Assistance Center’s operations manager’s is leaving, and now CAAC seeks to fill two positions.

Known as “the person in the front office,” Emily Ferraro has been CAAC operations manager for nearly two years.

“I had no idea when I walked into CAAC as a volunteer that I would one day have the privilege of becoming the operations manager,” she said. “My family was new to the community when I started so this has been a great opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful people.”

A major part of Ferraro’s job has included working closely with the more than 100 CAAC volunteers.

Executive Director Karen van Vierssen said instead of hiring one person to replace Ferraro, the position is being split into two part-time positions.

“Emily has helped to make so many positive changes at CAAC,” van Vierssen said. “It will be particularly difficult for me to see her leave, because she has been an incredible employee and my right arm.”

One of the new positions will cover the pantry and warehouse side of the job, and the other will cover client services and administration.

“I feel we are moving in the right direction by changing this role to two separate jobs, especially as we look to potentially expand our service hours to evenings and possibly weekends,” said Lisa Hall, CAAC Board of Directors president.

Ferraro’s last day is Feb. 14.

“One of the best parts of my job is working with the clients, many of whom I know on a first-name basis,” Ferraro said. “Being in a position to help where I can and offer solutions to people who are in need has been a real blessing for me. “

Resumes are being accepted through Jan. 20; email karencaac@bellsouth.net. Full description of both jobs are available in classifieds online at www.heraldonline.com, lakewyliepilot.com and enquirerherald.com.
