Deputies: Man shot in back in Union County

Union County deputies Thursday were searching for suspects in connection with a shooting that left one man in the hospital with a gunshot wound in his back.

The man was shot at 8:10 p.m. near a home in the 4100 block of Faith Church Road, officials with the Union County Sheriff’s Office said. The victim had been arguing with another man who had driven up in the driveway, Chief Deputy Sheriff Ben Bailey said. The suspect shot the victim in the back as he turned to walk back in the house, Bailey said.

The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main for treatment. Investigators were still on the scene at 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
