Hospital receives donation: Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville recently received a $7,000 donation from The Peninsula Community Foundation to provide sexual assault examination equipment. The donation makes it possible for Lake Norman victims of assault to receive forensic examinations and comprehensive care within their own community. Eastfield Road meeting: The Eastfield Road Small Area Plan will hold its second public information meeting 6-8 p.m. Jan. 17 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 11724 Asbury Chapel Road. The purpose of this meeting is to receive input from study area property owners and interested stake holders about land use and transportation issues in the study area. The Eastfield Road Small Area Plan is a long-range plan to guide anticipated development expected to occur with the completion of the final segment of Interstate 485. The new bridge will be lower to the ground, making the pond more visible to vehicular traffic, and will include a pedestrian viewing station. The total cost of the bridge is $76,000 and the town’s FY 2013 budget has $51,000 in matching funds earmarked.
