Union County deputies are searching Friday for a 21-year-old man accused of shooting another man in the back.
Authorities said Joshua Eugene Caldwell is wanted on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Authorities were called to a home in the 4100 block of Faith Church Road around 8:10 p.m. Thursday. That is in the Hemby Bridge area of the county.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Ben Bailey said the victim had been arguing with another man who had pulled into the driveway of the home, and was shot has he turned to walk back into his home.
On Friday, authorities identified Caldwell as the shooter. He is described as a black male who is six-foot-one and about 145 pounds, with a dark brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos, with the word “God’s” on his right arm and “Child” on his left. He also has the letters “CAS,EJL” tattooed on his chest.
Authorities said Caldwell’s last known address is in Matthews. They asked anyone who knows about his whereabouts to call the Union County Sheriff’s Office at 704-283-3789.
