Restaurant Week in Lowcountry

THROUGH JAN. 20 Charleston

Restaurant Week in Lowcountry

Restaurant Week returns to the good-eating city of Charleston, through Jan. 20, with area restaurants – including award-winners – offering three-course, fixed-price meals. About 40 participants are offering three courses for $20; about 70 offering three courses for $30; and about 16 offering three for $40. See the list and make reservations at www.charlestonrestaurantassociation.com (click “Restaurant Week”).

JAN. 21 National Parks

Free admission on MLK Day

Not all National Park Service properties charge admission, but those that do will waive it Jan. 21, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Admission will not be charged that day at the Wright Brothers National Memorial, at Kitty Hawk (admission is ordinarily $4), and at Fort Moultrie, at Charleston (ordinarily $3). For a state-by-state list of parks participating in this and other free-entrance days: www.nps.gov/findapark/feefreeparksbystate.htm.
