Charlotte flavor in McCrory inaugural parade

RALEIGH -- There will be a Charlotte-area presence Saturday at the inaugural parade of Gov. Pat McCrory, a former mayor of the Queen City.

The parade is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., following the Inaugural Ceremony and Address. The parade begins at Fayetteville and Davie streets in Raleigh and follows a route north on Fayetteville Street, east on Hargett Street, and then north on Wilmington Street to E. Lane Street.

Among Charlotte-area units scheduled to participate:

-- Catawba College Marching Band

-- Richmond High School Marching Band

-- South Caldwell High School Marching Band

-- Humane Society of Charlotte

-- UNC Charlotte mascot

-- Charlotte Motor Speedway pace car

-- Cabarrus County Visitors’ Center (race car)

-- Charlotte Fire Department
