Charlotte Catholic Naval Academy appointment: Ryan Manion has been awarded an Appointment to the Naval Academy. The senior was also recognized as a finalist for the Dynamic Sports Fund College Scholarship and the Bronko Nagurski HS Defensive Player of the Year Award by the Charlotte Touchdown Club and was awarded the South Charlotte Sports Report/Dyanmic Performance Sports Scholar-Athlete of the Year. CMS Scholarship deadline: Applications are being accepted for the $2,000 Kasie Capling Memorial Scholarship awarded to a Mecklenburg County high school senior who has been accepted as a STEM major for the fall 2013 semester at an accredited college or university. With the necessary school approvals and a donation from Lowe’s for court construction costs already obtained, the club will be recognized on completion of a court. Currently team members are practicing at a nearby court.Butler High Coach award: Butler Football Head Coach Brian Hales was named the Xenith National Coach-of-the-Year at the Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
