Tuesday forecast: Light rain, high near 63

Light rain is falling over much of the Charlotte region early Tuesday though the heaviest of precipitation is likely to be in the mountains and foothills.

Patchy fog also will cover some areas for part of the morning, according to the National Weather Service. But even once that moves out of the region, skies will remain cloudy.

Tuesday’s high is expected to reach 63 degrees in Charlotte.

Looking ahead, more rain is forecast for early Wednesday and on Thursday. And it’ll get cooler. The high on Thursday is only expected to reach 52 degrees, and the current forecast calls for a peak temperature of 49 on Friday.
